Started in 2006 in Berwyn, IL, under the name Parka Studios. It was an instant main stay in the area. From the beginning the studio handled everything from local to national acts, genres of all styles, corporate clients to bands and singer songwriters, and everything in between. Over the years the studio made lasting relationships with some of the best talented musicians, engineers, and producers in all of Chicagoland area, acquired a mic collection that rivals the best, and continued to expand its gear list year after year. After 11 years of experience and seeing the market shift multiple times, the decision was made to branch out and begin exploring different avenues of the industry. The idea of a portable mobile set up came up while discussing options. However stipulations were made. If this was going to work, the quality of work that Parka has become known for would have to stay the standard. If this could not be maintained, then the business could not work. Second, the professionalism of the set up would also have to maintain the standard that has been established. The equipment and engineers would have to rival the big studios. Third, the engineers would have to have a professional and good sounding room to run sessions. Parka was not a studio that records in the bathroom, and is not a studio in someone's basement. With careful deliberation and planning, "The Recording Vehicle" was born. Nicknamed "The RV" the studio was able to set up a professional mobile recording studio that could travel to someone's home, and make it convenient for people outside of big city to have the same quality and convenience available to the city. If we can bring a professionally insulated and sound treated room, coupled with the same recording equipment used in all of the big professional studios, we would have a business model set up for success and giving people an opportunity that was never available to the masses.
