ADO Icarus vzw geeft personen met een lichamelijke beperking de kans om zelfstandig te wonen en te leven. Wij geloven dat iedereen een zo normaal mogelijk leven moet kunnen leiden. Voor onze gebruikers, voornamelijk personen met een ernstige lichamelijke beperking, betekent dat in de eerste plaats zelfstandig wonen, alleen of als gezin.
Onze hoofdactiviteit is het aanbieden van woonondersteuning. Dankzij deze vorm van ondersteuning kunnen onze gebruikers beroep doen op een volledig aangepaste woning die valt binnen het sociale huurstelsel. Aan de woningen is een zorgpakket gekoppeld: naast 24/24u oproepbare assistentie, zit ook psychosociale ondersteuning inbegrepen in ons aanbod. Verder zijn onze gebruikers vrij in hun keuze van andere vormen van zorg of ondersteuning (thuisverpleging, dienstencheques, …).
Naast woonondersteuning biedt ADO Icarus ook persoonlijke assistentie, Rechtstreeks Toegankelijke Hulp (RTH), vrijwilligerswerking en alarmassistentie.
Op dit moment beschikt ADO Icarus in Vlaanderen over 12 diensten waar we woonondersteuning aanbieden aan zo’n 160 personen.
