PhacoClub is in 2024 opgericht door oogartsen Michiel Kuipers & Stefan Coppens met als doel het aanleren van cataract chirurgie te verbeteren. Zij merkten op dat bij AIOS en beginnende cataract chirurgen er veel behoefte was aan meer onderwijs over deze veel voorkomende operatie. Stefan heeft veel ervaring met het begeleiden van AIOS en beginnende oogartsen en wil middels de PhacoClub zijn ervaring breder delen. Michiel heeft eerder in zijn loopbaan ook met veel AIOS geopereerd en mist ze nu. Het geven van onderwijs en overbrengen van kennis met de PhacoClub maakt hem zeer enthousiast.
Stefan & Michiel willen met de PhacoClub een positieve bijdrage leveren aan het phaco onderwijs in Nederland.
Educatie
De basis van PhacoClub bestaat uit de jaarlijkse PhacoClub Lesdag. Tijdens deze lesdag behandelen Michiel en Stefan de staaroperatie van A tot Z. Hierbij richten we ons voornamelijk op de AIOS en jonge klaren. Naast de operatie komen óók de pre- en postoperatieve aspecten aan bod.
Sociaal
Het is onze overtuiging dat elkaar leren kennen in een ontspannen sfeer bijdraagt aan een goed leerklimaat. Dit zal uiteindelijk bijdragen aan jouw groei als chirurg. Zo is er na de lesdag een mooie activiteit ingepland waarbij alle deelnemers samen de dag kunnen afsluiten.
