The Canadian Society of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (CSPT) is a national not-for-profit charitable organization that aims to foster the application of educational and research excellence to drug discovery and therapeutics. CSPT is recognized for its involvement in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology fellowship training program offered by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as well its support of graduate/postdoctoral trainees and academic researchers across the country. CSPT is the official Canadian member of the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR).
CSPT was founded on July 1, 2008. It was born out of a merger of the Canadian Society for Clinical Pharmacology (CSCP) and the Pharmacological Society of Canada (PSC), each of which had been in existence for over 25 years.
