PharmaNL is een initiatief vanuit en voor de Nederlandse farmaceutische sector, gedragen door een landelijk publiek-privaat consortium bestaande uit Leiden University/Leiden University Medical Center, Campus Groningen, Pivot Park Oss, FAST en Stichting Lygature. PharmaNL heeft als ambitie een duurzame impuls te geven aan het benutten van het economisch en maatschappelijk potentieel van innovatieve farmaceutische producten en productietechnologieën.
Het PharmaNL voorstel is opgesteld door de consortiumleden en ingediend door het ministerie van VWS, met steun van het ministerie van EZK, in de tweede ronde van het Nationaal Groeifonds. In juli 2022 heeft het kabinet het PharmaNL programma voor een bedrag van in totaal 78,8 miljoen euro gehonoreerd.
Het programma heeft een looptijd van 8,5 jaar (1 nov 2022 – 30 apr 2031) en bestaat uit twee nationaal gecoördineerde programmalijnen:
1. Het opzetten van een state-of-the-future shared development infrastructuur voor gebruik door farmaceutische start-ups, scale-ups en academische onderzoeksgroepen.
2. Het implementeren van een coherent en hybride Life Long Learning programma dat het huidige farmaceutisch opleidingsaanbod versterkt en waar mogelijk voorziet van internationale uitstraling en aantrekkingskracht.
