PeopleHelpingPeople (PHP) began its journey in 2015 on the basis that more should be done for the homeless and disabled, who have largely been dismissed and ignored by their families and society. The project's genesis came from a personal passion for helping the homeless and disabled and the empathy for them given similar afflictions to immediate family members. This was based on recognition of the fact that those family members could have just as easily been in similar difficult situations as those often seen on the streets. PHP's mission is to provide support for the homeless while assisting particular individuals with jobs, rehabilitation, and reintegration into society. For nearly a decade, PHP has also distributed food, clothing, sleeping bags, blankets, and other supplies.
