+LAB è il primo laboratorio di stampa 3D del Politecnico di Milano, attivo dal 2013 nel Dipartimento di Chimica, Materiali e Ingegneria Chimica “Giulio Natta”. Fondato e guidato dalla Prof.ssa Marinella Levi, il laboratorio adotta un approccio multidisciplinare che integra ricerca, didattica e design, con attenzione a innovazione, sostenibilità e impatto sociale.
Il team sviluppa materiali polimerici avanzati per la manifattura additiva, con applicazioni che spaziano dal riciclo di polimeri in ambito tessile a nuove formulazioni per l’elettronica stampata in 3D. +LAB promuove la co-progettazione coinvolgendo designer, ricercatori, maker e persone con abilità differenti. Recentemente, il laboratorio si sta impegnando nella sperimentazione sull’applicazione dell’intelligenza artificiale alla progettazione di materiali e ai processi di manifattura additiva, ampliando così ulteriormente il suo raggio d’azione verso tecnologie emergenti.
+LAB is the first 3D printing lab at Politecnico di Milano, active since 2013 within the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “Giulio Natta.” Founded and led by Prof. Marinella Levi, the lab takes a multidisciplinary approach that combines research, teaching, and design, with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and social relevance.
+LAB develops advanced polymer materials for additive manufacturing, from recycled textiles to 3D-printable formulations for electronics. The lab fosters co-design by working with researchers, designers, makers, and people with diverse abilities. It is also exploring how artificial intelligence can support material design and additive processes.
