Planisfer is an independent local rail freight operator that offers full traction services for industrial / business customers in the South-West of Belgium. The local operator was created following the aim of the region Coeur du Hainaut (region around Mons) to increase the modal share of rail transport in the region. The main activities of Planisfer are to provide • a full range of rail related services • an extended and performing distribution network connecting industrial sites and local intermodal terminals. • attractive End-To-End Logistic solutions to increase the competitiveness of the local stakeholders. Plansfer has introduced an innovative approach by building a rail community as driver for the development. By involving local players and raising awareness for rail transport for local non-rail users, Planisfer can massify volumes and develop new rail connections accordingly. The growth of the activities of the OFP, since its creation in 2015, shows the relevance of its economic model. It also shows the capacity of a local freight operator to respond to the needs of the local players by providing a flexible and competitive rail offering that is in line with a voluntarist policy of modal shift and development of local logistics. Planisfer is a brand of Lineas (former B Logistics) and offers a strong local presence in terms of staff and dedicated means of production. The customer base is broad. Planisfer transports chemical & steel products (RID), bulk, consumer goods and containers. In a first phase, activities started off mainly in the Hainaut region, but they are now quickly expanding to all adjacent areas.
