plc-tec AG (plc-tec) is a Swiss SME, founded in 2014 as a spin-off of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences & Arts (HSLU) with the goal to provide its customers Power Line Communication PLC as an Enabling Technology for their competitive advantage of their products and systems, with reduced R&D risks and shorter time-to-market.
Power Line Communication (PLC) enables the power cabling to be used as a communication infrastructure, by transmitting data over the power wires / cables, making separate and dedicated data cables obsolete. This opens a competitive advantage for system suppliers by integration PLC into their systems and save weight, space and power (Size, Weight and Power SWAP) for systems offered to their customers.
plc-tec is a pioneer specialized in PLC applications for mission- and time-critical systems which demand the design of advanced communication technology schemes and algorithms and their development within design and development processes which comply with international standards of functional safety according to norms like RTCA DO-254/178, IEC 61508, etc.
plc-tec has developed their PLC designs into an own Power Line data bUS (PLUS) technology.
