Founded in 2016 by Paul Franklyn and Chloe Grimshaw, Plinth is a contemporary art platform that believes art and culture should be made accessible to the widest possible audience. Our philosophy has always been to focus on the ‘democratisation of art’. Through our consultancy projects, stories, online shop, and exhibitions, we create opportunities for people to experience, understand, and engage with contemporary art in their everyday lives. We work with high-profile institutions, companies and curators to connect people with creative expression in inclusive and innovative ways.
As part of that mission, Plinth consults with esteemed brands and organisations seeking to use contemporary art and culture to shape their identities and connect with new audiences. We advise on creative strategies. Develop new ways of fundraising. Curate events and exhibitions. Produce objects and limited-editions by world-renowned artists. Always, our services involve thinking about 'the art world' in fresh ways.
Whether celebrated locally or globally, our goal is to bring the work of outstanding artists and creatives to a wider audience. From Turner Prize-winners to Magnum photographers, collaborating with artists is at the heart of what we do. We’ve published limited editions, specially-designed homeware, clothing, and multiples by artists such as Michael Craig-Martin, Cornelia Parker, Ding Yi, David Shrigley, Julian Opie, Beatriz Milhazes, and many more.
