Mission Statement: Helping to create a world governed by equity, compassion, and justice not only between human beings but also between human and non-human animals.
The Podrska Foundation is the vision of its founder, Dash Meizler, to make the world a better place for human and non-human animals. Already inspired to undertake humanitarian work from personal experience, Dash made the connection in 2018 between animal products and suffering, and started to value the lives of non-human animals as much as he valued those of human beings. He consequently started living a vegan lifestyle, and non-human animals were added as beneficiaries to the Podrska Foundation's mission. The Podrska Foundation leads by example: its varied projects aim to alleviate poverty and improve the prospects for disadvantaged groups of humans but without the exploitation of animals.
The Podrska Foundation has created many campaigns including:
The Lady Program – promoting gender equality through economic empowerment.
The Vegan School Campaign - raising awareness in students of the health and environmental benefits of a wholistic plant-based diet.
Project Grow –empowering at-risk Ugandans to grow organic vegetables from household waste.
All of Podrska's projects only use plant-based resources and encourage participants to make choices informed by compassion for fellow humans and non-human animals.
As ambassadors for the Podrska Foundation, its volunteers have not only been inspiring Ugandans to develop empathy for, and justice towards, our human and non-human fellow inhabitants of this planet, but they are also inspiring people to do the same across the world. By witnessing Podrska's mission in action in 'Least Developed' countries such as Uganda, individuals and organisations in the UK, USA, Italy among other countries are being motivated to join the Podrska Foundation in their common efforts to create a better world for human and non-human animals.
