Psikoloji Öğrencileri Meslek Yasası Platformu (PÖMYAP), 1 Haziran 2014 tarihinde psikologların bağımsız meslek yasasına ve psikoloji bölümlerinin sorunlarına dair sistematik ve örgütlü çalışmalar yürütmek amacıyla kurulmuştur. PÖMYAP, vizyonu gereği tamamen bağımsız bir platformdur. Bünyesinde siyasi içerik ve propaganda çalışması barındırmaz. Kurulmasının temel amacı lisans eğitimi alan psikologların meslek kurallarının bulunmaması, koruyucu ve önleyici bir meslek yasasının ve meslek örgütünün bulunmamasının yarattığı sorunların psikoloji öğrencilerinin gelecekleri açısından endişe duymasına neden olmasıdır. Psikologların çalışma koşullarına dair mevcut yasal düzenlemeler yaşanan hak ihlallerinin önüne geçmemekle birlikte her geçen gün yenilerinin eklenmesine neden olmaktadır. Torba yasa kapsamında yapılan düzenlemeler sadece klinik psikologları kapsamaktadır ve yetersizdir. Meslek yasasının eksikliği, psikologların çalışma koşullarının etik olarak belirlenmemesine, lisans eğitimi ile eş tutulamayacak sertifika programları ile insanların NLP uzmanı, yaşam koçu gibi unvanlar alarak psikoloji biliminin ve psikologluk mesleğinin değersizleştirilmesine sebep olmaktadır. Bu sebeple psikologları ve haklarını koruma altına alacak bir meslek yasasının mevcudiyeti artık kaçınılmazdır. Yaşanan tüm sorunlara psikoloji çatısı altında çözümler aramak PÖMYAP’ın birincil hedefleri arasındadır.
