The traditional or technological innovation process is both exciting and risky. In the meantime, social innovators are often seen differently, detached from the challenges tech innovators face. However, research has shown that social innovators deal with four main challenges when developing and scaling their businesses: market access, financial sustainability, skills, and adequate networks. Sounds familiar?
There are more similarities between social and tech innovations than meets the eye. But bridging the gap between two ecosystems is not an easy task. The POSITIVE project will tackle these challenges by impacting external and internal factors through knowledge transfer and cross-fertilization between the tech and social innovation spheres and the interlinkage of these ecosystems.
POSITIVE will raise awareness about the benefits of social innovation and social entrepreneurship, offer trainings about social entrepreneurship for business support organizations which will lead to better support for social innovators, and provide new opportunities for social entrepreneurs to digitize their products and services and to acquire new skills through the organization of an Open Innovation Challenge in Germany, Italy, and Lithuania.
Interlinking the two ecosystems will benefit everyone since all actors involved will acquire new skills and the closer connection will create new solutions for the benefit of society, including green, digital, and social transitions.
