PRIMAVERA is a non-profit initiative and it will be the first collaboration between the three institutions in Rotterdam involved in the education of future artists and cultural entrepreneurs: Codarts, Willem de Kooning Academy, and the Erasmus University.
It was founded by students from the master Cultural Economics & Entrepreneurship. They gathered a team of 12 artists, specialized in different artistic disciplines: visual arts, music, dance, and animation.
The artists will show their interpretation of Spring in collaborations with each other. They will create experimental dynamic art pieces and micro-shows for people to enjoy during the event.
Motivations:
We are cultural entrepreneurship students and this is our first try at creating our own project.
This is a way for us to put our entrepreneurial skills to the test and to show our fellow students
what the potential is of cultural entrepreneurs in Rotterdam.
Primavera is a try-out for starting artists. It will provide us, future cultural
entrepreneurs and them, future artists and musicians, with a place to professionalize, to build a
portfolio and gain an initial network that will contribute to our future careers.
Organizing the Primavera Project is a way to renew the idea of art exhibitions, how audiences perceive and experience art. We want people to join our event to have a drink and hang out with people with shared interests, while enjoying multiple micro‐shows.
