PRIOCAR ist aus dem Wunsch entstanden, Photovoltaik und Elektromobilität zusammenzubringen.
David Muggli, der bereits zehn Jahre erfolgreich Solarstromanlagen mit der Priogo AG verkauft hatte, wollte einen Schritt weiter gehen. Nachhaltigkeit hört nicht bei der PV-Anlage auf dem Hausdach auf, und so kam Muggli auf das Thema Elektromobilität. 2017 machte er sich auf die Suche nach geeigneten Fahrzeugen, um das Angebot von PRIOGO um E-Mobile zu erweitern.
Zur gleichen Zeit suchte Dr. Philip Müller einen geeigneten Solarpartner, um die Frage seiner E-Fahrzeug-Kunden bei der e.GO Mobile AG nach nachhaltigem Strom beantworten zu können. Es verfestigte sich die Idee, mit der PRIOCAR den entscheidenden Schritt zu gehen, um beide Welten – die Photovoltaik und die Elektromobilität – zusammenzubringen. Die logische Ergänzung zu einer Solarstromanlage auf dem Dach liegt in der Elektromobilität und umgekehrt.
Vor diesem Hintergrund haben Muggli & Müller 2018 die PRIOCAR AG als ganzheitlichen Anbieter von Elektrofahrzeugen, Ladeinfrastruktur, Photovoltaik und Energiespeicheranlagen gegründet. Das Angebot an elektrisch betriebenen Fahrzeugen richtet sich an private Haushalte, Kleingewerbetreibende und Unternehmen mit einer Fahrzeugflotte. PRIOCAR vertreibt die E-Autos über ein Netz an Partnern in ganz Deutschland. Das Unternehmen hat seinen Sitz in Zülpich (NRW).
