PRJCT Amsterdam is a Baroque Orchestra around counter tenor Maarten Engeltjes, founded in 2017. The ensemble consists of a core of outstanding, recently graduated musicians, with a shared vision of Baroque music. PRJCT Amsterdam aims at engaging a broader, younger and more diverse audience for classical music by offering several special projects per year. For each project the ensemble seeks to cooperate with prominent Baroque specialists of international allure, as concertmasters and as soloists. The combination of diverse talents and experiences induces mutual inspiration and aims at a whole that exceeds the sum of the parts.
PRJCT Amsterdam is een barokensemble rondom countertenor Maarten Engeltjes, opgericht in 2017. Het ensemble kent een vaste kern van jonge, uitmuntende barokmusici, recent afgestudeerd en in Nederland woonachtig, met een eigen muzikale visie. PRJCT Amsterdam wil door het creëren van een nieuwe benadering van oude muziek een groter, diverser en jonger publiek te bereiken. PRJCT Amsterdam voert per jaar enkele projecten uit, met optredens in samenwerking met vooraanstaande, internationaal befaamde barokmusici, in de rol van concertmeester en als speciale solist(en). Juist deze diversiteit en wederzijdse inspiratie resulteert in een geheel dat meer is dan de som der delen.
