Project Akriti is an initiative working to spread awareness about Indian classical art forms as our culture is dying day by day. We are working on taking sessions in different schools in Delhi about Indian classical art forms.
The problem: Lack of awareness of Indian classical dance and music
Why the problem is there: If we see from the ancient time these forms have been limited to the higher classes of society first, in the ancient period these forms were limited to the temples, and then in the medieval period they also went to the courts of kings and emperors. And finally, because of this inequality being played from the ancient time now, Indian classical art forms are mostly limited to traditional and literate households. Secondly, the problem is there because the entertainment platforms only promote Western art forms. In most reality shows the show format works in a manner that creates an environment of competition for it limits only western or freestyle art forms.
Impact of the problem: On gurus and dancers: This problem has created a huge impact on modern-day classical dancers and musicians most of their shows in which they try to make people aware of Indian classical dance and music those shows are most of the time free but besides this fact, most of the shows are done with almost no audiences. On India: The biggest impact this problem is having is on India as a collective nation because this problem is leading to the decline of Indian art and culture.
Our Vision - One day our future generation will be aware about Indian Classical art forms.
Our solution:
Prabhaav: We are trying to spread awareness about Indian classical art forms by conducting sessions in various schools in Delhi to empower our young minds with our Indian art and culture. We are also looking to conduct online sessions and workshops for students outside Delhi.
Prachaar: Using social media as a platform to create content about Indian Classical art forms.
