To put it simply, we are a group of students wanting to change the way we treat care home residents and how they're integrated into the local community.
We believe by providing immersive experiences run personally by us as students, we're not only giving these residents a chance to chat with a new face (and about some very interesting topics), this also shows these residents that us as the younger generation are actually not that scary giving them more confidence to go out and enjoy the area.
Project Improvide is part of the Enactus Southampton portfolio - a university society all about making impact in the local community whilst teaching students about entrepreneurship and key business skills.
We run our activities on a very small budget meaning that our services are accessible to all care homes, no matter what size. Using the scrap store and a range of volunteers, this means that we can make the most impact for the lowest cost.
