Project One Day is a Christian 501(c)3 with a unique childcare model to help low-income families have access to quality, tuition-free infant and toddler childcare. Project One Day trains parents to supplement its experienced Early Childhood Educators. Parents volunteer one day per week in their child's class. In exchange the parent receives four days/ 40 hours per week of FREE childcare so they can work or go to school. Project One Day exclusively serves children ages 6 weeks through three years old. Zero to three is the most critical stage for brain development and it is when childcare is most expensive. From May 2021 through June 2024 Project One Day's model underwent a 3-year pilot as a licensed and regulated childcare home Houston's Fifth Ward. In Fall 2024, Project One Day will open a childcare center at Sharpstown Baptist serving 35 infants and toddlers in need. Our highest hope is to expand this model so more Texas children can enjoy the start God intended.
