Le projet ARCA vise à africaniser la transformation et l’aménagement des conteneurs maritimes pour réaliser des structures d’hébergement transitoire (SHT) écologiques, durables et déplaçables et autonomes énergétiquement, afin de reloger les populations vulnérables fuyant l’insécurité ou une situation de crise en Afrique de l'Ouest , dans la région sahélienne (ex : Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Sénégal, Mali, Niger, Tchad,...) et dans tous les autres pays confrontés à l'accueil de réfugiés ou de relocalisation de populations sous abris précaires.
ARCA permettra par la même occasion de produire de l’électricité de manière totalement délocalisée dans des régions difficiles d’accès et dépourvues d’approvisionnement énergétique. L'objectif est de mettre lesdites structures à disposition des gouvernements, des autorités locales et leurs partenaires de la société civile et du privé, en collaboration avec leurs partenaires au développement, pour venir en aide aux populations vulnérables.
The ARCA project aims to Africanize the transformation and development of shipping containers to achieve ecological, sustainable and displaceable transitional housing structures (SHT) and energy self-sufficient, to relocate vulnerable populations fleeing insecurity or a crisis situation in West Africa , in the Sahelian region (ex: Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Mali, Niger, Chad,...) and in all other countries facing the reception of refugees or the relocation of populations in precarious shelters.
At the same time, ARCA will make it possible to produce electricity completely delocalized in regions that are difficult to access and lack energy supply. The aim is to make these structures available to governments, local authorities and their civil society and private partners, in collaboration with their development partners, to assist vulnerable populations.
