De GV Pro Patria Zoetermeer werd in 1911 in Zoetermeer opgericht en is al meer dan 100 jaar een begrip in de regio en in Nederland. GV Pro Patria is één van de grotere gymclubs van Nederland. De vereniging wil een moderne, goed toegeruste vereniging zijn met een hoog sportief ambitieniveau. GV Pro Patria staat midden in de (Zoetermeerse) samenleving en wil de aanjager blijven van de sportparticipatie in de stad Zoetermeer. De vereniging zoekt hierbij nadrukkelijk de verbinding met partners zoals gemeente, sportorganisaties, onderwijs en de zorg.
Daarnaast wil GV Pro Patria het gymsportplatform zijn in de stad Zoetermeer voor talentontwikkeling van sporters, coaches, juryleden en bestuurders. Al een halve eeuw nemen Pro Patria sporters deel aan de internationale wedstrijdsport en in 1976, 2000 en 2004 zelfs aan Olympische Zomerspelen.
GV Pro Patria is een vereniging voor iedereen, we zijn een vereniging waar je kunt kiezen uit een groot gymaanbod, van turnen tot dans, van ouder kind-gym tot aerobics. Ondanks de ingezette koers, waarbij zaken soms anders georganiseerd moeten worden om aan de doelstellingen en ambitie te voldoen blijft de gymsport centraal staan. Momenteel biedt Pro Patria in verschillende (gemeentelijke) wijksportzalen meer dan 100 lessen aan voor jong tot oud in diverse vormen van gymsport. Gymsport hoort dichtbij mensen plaats te vinden. Dat willen we zo houden!
