Started in 2013, Pure Joy's mission is to support, enrich, and collaborate with art, music, and activist communities in Chicago through events and educational programs with the eventual goal of opening an all ages, accessible performance and meeting space.
In the short term, we seek to collaborate with existing organizations and groups focused on youth education and the arts. This includes individual musicians, artists, and all-ages community spaces, and anyone else who supports our mission. We co-host and attend events throughout Chicago in order to raise funds and determine how best to serve the community in the long term.
We are currently seeking volunteers to help in the development of the organization. If you have any of the following, please get in touch:
-a teachable, practical skill to share to kids or adults (music, art, yoga, digital editing, etc.)
-fundraising experience
-grant-writing experience
-architectural or contracting experience
-an existing organization or space that aligns with our mission
-other ideas to help out
