De armoede waarin veel mensen in India leven raakt ons. Maar wat écht ons hart binnenkomt is de situatie van veel vrouwen en meisjes in dit land. Waar vrouwen in Nederland veel kansen krijgen om zichzelf te ontwikkelen en te worden wie ze willen zijn, hebben veel vrouwen in India deze kansen niet gekregen. Wat voor vrouwen hier in Nederland vaak vanzelfsprekend is, is voor vrouwen in India niet weggelegd.
Purple wil deze vrouwen aan elkaar verbinden en hiermee de negatieve spiraal van armoede doorbreken. Omdat wij geloven dat wanneer vrouwen de kans krijgen zich te ontwikkelen en de vrijheid krijgen om zelf een toekomst op te bouwen, dit niet alleen hun eigen leefwereld verandert, maar ook die van hun kinderen en omgeving.
Purple investeert in kansarme vrouwen in India en geeft hen de kans een eigen onderneming te starten, waarmee ze voldoende inkomen genereren om in hun eigen levensonderhoud en dat van hun gezin te voorzien. Hiermee dragen we bij aan een kansrijke toekomst voor deze vrouwen en hun dochters.
