The RADIS Lab (Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Dynamic Flow, Advanced Imaging, and Simulation) at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto is a pioneering research facility dedicated to advancing neurovascular disease diagnosis and treatment. World’s First Robotic-Assisted Neurovascular Intervention: In 2019, the lab performed the first robotic-assisted brain aneurysm repair globally, marking a significant advancement in neurovascular surgery.
Pioneering Novel Imaging Techniques: The lab has been instrumental in demonstrating the safety and value of optical coherence tomography (OCT) technology for neurovascular applications, enhancing the precision of intracranial procedures. The team performed the world’s first series of endoluminal brain imaging using nOCT which was published on the cover of Science Translational Medicine in May of 2024. They have also worked with industry partners to develop brain imaging protocols for stroke assessment.
International Training Programs: The lab has established training programs for endovascular surgeons worldwide, disseminating advanced techniques and improving global neurovascular care standards.
