Rain Parrot is a leading weather app, rated as the number one paid weather app in Australia, and is frequently featured as a top app by Apple. Launched in 2014 as an iPhone app it was developed to give hyperlocal forecasts, so our customers will never get caught in the rain again.
The app enables people to get a notification 30 minutes before rainfall is expected using our push notification service based on our unique modelling and processes, which provides predictions and weather across Australia. It also sends forecasts for the next day if rain is predicted including temperature and rainfall predictability.
The App is great for those playing sports outdoors to get the advantage over opponents or know when it is time to take a break, for hikers to know when to take shelter and when to hit the trail again, and for those planning a big day or event allowing you to plan and forecast.
Having secured funding we are currently developing support for more devices and more regions and are in early stages of planning a new release with a new architecture and technology. This will power our launch internationally and will integrate with the latest weather data from around the globe. We have exciting plans to scale, grow our team, and deliver an even better app to our already very happy customers.
Our Founder, Brad Rees, was Lead Developer at Blinkbox in the UK, which sold to Tesco, then TalkTalk TV. He has created and worked on a number of leading apps in weather, ecommerce media, utilities, and has exciting new projects in the pipeline.
