Ram Racing at VCU is a multidisciplinary FSA organizationE with a mission to design and build a Formula-style race car from scratch. The Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) competition motivates college students to compete in numerous different competitions including Formula, Baja, even aerospace! This organization brings together students and faculty who have a passion for engineering and cars. We enable our members to gain real world experience in design, business, and engineering that applies the theories we learn in the classroom. Our most recent vehicle, VCU-02, competed in the International Formula SAE competition in the summer of 2019 in Lincoln, Nebraska. With the global market moving to environmental solutions for transportation, there is a recent push to move towards electric vehicles. Our goal is to redefine the formula vehicle and create our newest iteration to be an all-electric vehicle. VCU-03 is currently projected to compete at the 2024 International Formula SAE competition.
