Around 4000 Australians die each year from past asbestos exposure. Although banned in Australia in 2003, asbestos is still in our environment and remains a very real threat.
In the past, asbestos exposure was mostly an occupational problem. These days the people at most risk are home renovators and the next generation of tradies.
Established in 2015, Reflections is a not-for-profit REDUCING THE IMPACT of asbestos and BRINGING HOPE to people affected.
We do this by:
- increasing awareness of the ongoing risk of asbestos in our community
- promoting education and training
- and supporting people affected by asbestos-related diseases through care, advocacy and connection.
We have lived experience of mesothelioma. And our dedicated is passionate about making asbestos-related diseases a thing of our past. We look forward to a time when the work we do is no longer needed. We want every Australian to understand the ongoing risk of asbestos.
