OUR STORY It all started when watch enthusiasts Totte el Siddig and Roger Clementz met at a forum for watches and discovered that they shared the thought that watch bands could be elevated to a higher level by emphasizing the story behind different classic watches and their part in historical events. Totte has a background as a designer and art director while Roger is an engineer. Together, they came up with a concept that unites design, idea and technology. REM Straps’ watch straps are made locally in Sweden. A watch strap from REM Straps is like a tour of the South of Sweden: Tommarp In the small village of Tommarp, our senior designer has his studio. It is here that he develops the concept and designs for the watch straps. So far, there are straps that celebrate the heroes of aviation and aeroplanes, cars and racing, diving and submarines, and so much more. Tärnsjö Our straps are made from the finest leather. At Tärnsjö Tanning, in the village of Tärnsjö, leather has been tanned and processed since 1873. The tannery is also the home of the only saddlery school in the Nordic countries. Here, our leather is tanned and treated with plant-based methods that have been tried and tested over time. Nissafors In Nissafors in the county of Småland, we find Kallfeldts Leather. The company makes a long line of leather products, and this is where our watch bands are punched and surface treated. Olofström Olofström in the county of Blekinge is the home of Lädersömmeriet (Leather Sewing) where the straps are being skived by hand and get their final finish. Lund In Lund, finally, the straps are sewn with the colour of stitching of choice, laser-engraved and finished in our own facility. The straps are given their unique serial number before they are packaged and shipped off to watch enthusiasts around the world.
