De Respect Foundation heeft als droom: een respectvolle samenleving waar jongeren zich thuis voelen en waar ze actief aan bijdragen.
Respectvol samenleven begint bij jongeren – de generatie van de toekomst. Want wat je jong leert, neem je de rest van je leven mee. Door kinderen te inspireren en te activeren om zélf bij te dragen, bouwen we op structurele wijze aan een respectvolle samenleving.
Maar hoe zorgen we ervoor dat zij opgroeien in een samenleving waar ze zich verbonden voelen met elkaar en hun omgeving? Dat zij zich thuis voelen in- en actief deelnemen aan de maatschappij waarin ze leven?
Wij geloven dat kinderen van nature beschikken over een moreel kompas; het vermogen om de juiste keuzes te maken als het ertoe doet. Maar ervaring leert ook dat je dit kompas moet leren vertrouwen, herkennen en ontwikkelen.
De Respect Foundation organiseert daarom
– sinds 2006 – verschillende initiatieven,
activiteiten, projecten en campagnes. Onze
mentaliteit is open-source, laagdrempelig en
positief. Samen met professionele opvoeders,
samenwerkingspartners, financiers, ons eigen
expertteam en natuurlijk jongeren zelf, geven
we op actieve wijze invulling aan respect.
Op korte termijn leidt dit tot een veilige sfeer in
de klas, sportclub en buurt. Op langere termijn
leidt dit tot jongeren die de moed hebben om
de juiste keuzes te maken, zich thuis voelen
in- en actief bijdragen aan een respectvolle
samenleving.
