Restaurant 1487, een mooi stukje historie midden in het gezellige centrum van Zevenaar.
Ons Restaurant is vernoemd naar het jaar dat Zevenaar, gelegen in het voormalige Ambt Lymers, haar stadsrecht heeft gekregen.
In de akte van 1487 werd onder andere bepaald dat alleen in het land van de Liemers en Wehl in de stad Zevenaar brood gebakken en bier gebrouwen mocht worden. Ook mocht er geen bier verkocht worden dat van buiten Zevenaar afkomstig was. Alleen al hierom hebben we ervoor gekozen om bij Restaurant 1487 voor zoveel mogelijk lokale producten te kiezen en halen ons brood en ons bier uit de regio.
Ons restaurant is gevestigd in een prachtig karakteristiek pand wat stamt uit 1914. Het oorspronkelijke pand droeg het karakter van een stadsboerderij en werd in 1764 het Casteleinshuis genoemd.
