The RISE Foundation is the fundraising arm of RISE Caribe which operates in the south Caribbean region of Costa Rica. The mission of The RISE Foundation is to support the community by vetting & financially supporting grassroots organizations that have taken on the responsibility of serving or protecting the people, the animals, the culture, or the thriving ecosystem.
In addition to contributing to an carefully selected group of independent local organizations, The RISE Foundation operates an in-house initiative called Puerto Viejo Esenciales (PVE) which aims to provide the most basic necessities to those in need. Formed as a response to the COVID-19 crisis, PVE has provided food & supplies to hundreds of families (& their pets) all over the region.
Their ultimate objective is to ELIMINATE the 20% poverty rate in Costa Rica by putting pressure on the appropriate governmental bodies to take long overdue action & by continuing in their international fundraising efforts. In 2023, the RISE Foundation will be starting construction of the very first veterinary clinic in the remote Tortuguero, Costa Rica. With over 3,000 stray dogs and only 1500 people with no clinic around, this is a necessity that will improve the lives of many.
