ROM er det samlende møtestedet for kunst, arkitektur, stedsutvikling og offentlige rom i Norge. Vi er en utforskende plattform med hovedvekt på utstillinger, filmvisninger, debatter, foredrag og tekstpublisering. Historie
Galleriet har siden 2005 vært lokalisert i Maridalsveien 3. Det gamle garasjeanlegget i de tidligere NORA fabrikklokalene ble renovert, og to gallerier, Galleri ROM (startet i 1987) og Institutt for Romkunst (startet i 1988), slo seg sammen for å bli et tverrfaglig møtested for kunst og arkitektur. Fem stiftelsesorganisasjoner sto bak sammenslåingen: Norske Kunsthåndverkere, Norske Billedkunstnere, Norske arkitekters Landsforbund, Norske interiørarkitekters og møbeldesigneres landsforening og Norske landskapsarkitekters forening.
