Der Lehrstuhl für Produktionssysteme (LPS) in der Fakultät für Maschinenbau der Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) forscht auf den Gebieten der Virtuellen Planung und Inbetriebnahme von Produktionssystemen, der Automatisierungstechnik, der Produktionsplanung und –steuerung von Produktionssystemen, der Qualitätssicherung in der Produktionstechnik

Lern- und Forschungsfabrik (LFF) zur Umsetzung und Evaluierung von Industrie 4.0-Forschungsergebnissen in einem praktischen Fabrikumfeld. Die LPS Lern- und Forschungsfabrik ist ein Ort für Forschung, Lehre, Qualifizierung und Industriekooperationen. Die interdisziplinäre Ausrichtung des LPS zeichnet sich durch gemeinsame Initiativen wie die WorldFactory oder das Forschungszentrum für das Engineering Smarter Produkt-Service Systeme (ZESS) aus.
