Supported by the Indian High Commission in Ottawa, Canada, we are are a voluntary, non-profit organization that provide help to Indian students in Canada.
Immigrating to a new country is exciting and scary. International students come to Canada with hope and at times unrealistic expectations of what a new country holds for them. Separation from family and familiar surroundings coupled with adjusting to a new environment, financial stress, academic pressures and family expectations are difficult to cope with.
Our Vision
Mental Health and overall wellness are vital to academic, professional and personal success. Supported by the Indian High Commission in Ottawa, Canada, Sahyog's primary mission is to create dialogue, better understanding around Mental Health issues by addressing stigmas in particular from a cultural point of view; through education, prevention measures, creating support networks in each city and eventually peer to peer support through training.
Our Mission
By collaborating with Mental Health Organizations, Community & Cultural Organizations, College & University Counseling Departments, Food banks, Employment & Housing agencies etc.; Sahyog’s goal is to provide a compassionate safe space and be a main point of contact to guide international students towards having their emotional and basic needs met by connecting them to credible resources, programs and tools that will support and empower them through their academic journey and beyond in Canada.
