Fonair Aviation Co., Ltd.(SF UAS) is a large UAV technology and service provider under SF Express, committed to providing efficient logistics services through autonomous aviation technologies. Fonair offers safe, reliable and low-cost air transportation service not only for parcel express but also for high-end, high-quality agricultural products, JIT supply chain, public emergency transportation as well as medical care. Our headquarters are located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. In June 2017, our very first UAV with a 750 kg MTOW successfully made its maiden flight. On October of the same year, the maiden flight of a second UAV with 1.5-ton payload was also a success. We are projected to launch more UAVs with payloads more than 1-ton soon.
SF Express was established in 1993 which serves as a leading provider of integrated express logistics services in China and an intelligent logistics operator with network scale advantages. In 2017, our shipment reached 3.05 billion, and we made a revenue of $10.7 billion and a net profit of $713 million. SF Express also own one of the largest cargo airlines in China, SF Airlines. Its fleet contains 60 all cargo airplanes, including 45 self-owned airplanes. Last year, SF Airliners carried 23% of China's domestic air cargo and kept a record of over 150,000 hours of safe flying.
Mr. Wang Wei, President of SF Express, initially proposed the idea of cargo UAVs in 2012 and SF Express quickly carried out the UAV operation in the following year. In 2015 development of the large UAV project began, which resulted in the eventual creation in 2017 of a new wholly owned subsidiary of SF Express - Fonair. Fonair rapidly established pioneering leadership in the industry based on various business scenario, network, and aviation operation capabilities of SF Express. By introducing large UAVs with a payload of 200 kg - 4 tons, SF Express could upgrade its branch transportation and connect with the air transportation network of SF Airlines to create a three-tier air transportation network of "Airliners in the trunk routes + large UAVs in the branch routes + small UAVs in the last mile routes". With this network, SF Express can achieve 36-hour parcel delivery time nationwide.
As the largest demander of UAVs in China, Fonair adheres to an open and win-win cooperation strategy, integrates technologies, capital, and talents all over the world, and cooperates with the state, local government and related industry parties to set up a UAV ecosphere and promote the development of the UAV industry. Fonair has already established long-term strategic partnerships with many leading airplane design institute and manufacturers, components and system manufacturers, and research institutes at home and abroad.
