Die Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Hydrogeologie SGH ist die Fachvereinigung von WissenschaftlerInnen, PraktikerInnen und Behördenmitgliedern, die im Bereich der Hydrogeologie tätig sind. Zur Zeit zählt sie etwa 300 Mitglieder. Die SGH ist Mitglied der Schweizerischen Akademie der Naturwissenschaften (scnat) und des Forums Hydrologie der Schweiz. Sie vertritt die Schweiz bei der Internationalen Vereinigung der HydrogeologInnen (International Association of Hydrogeologists IAH) und bildet das nationale Komitee. Die SGH veranstaltet Tagungen zur Weiterbildung der Mitglieder und zur Förderung der persönlichen Kontakte. Sie bildet und leitet Arbeitsgruppen, die sich mit aktuellen hydrogeologischen Fragen auseinandersetzen. Sie äussert sich im Rahmen von Anhörungen und Vernehmlassungen zu Richtlinien und Gesetzen, welche das Grundwasser oder die Arbeit als Hydrogeologin oder Hydrogeologe betreffen. 2024 organisiert die SGH den internationalen Hydrogeologie-Kongress in Davos.
