Shidoni Fine Art Galleries and Sculpture Garden began under Tommy Hicks, a sculptor and bronze caster of renown in his own right. Tommy moved his family to New Mexico in 1971 to offer casting services to the more serious artists of Santa Fe, as well as a unique showspace in the Gallery and Sculpture Gardens.
Shidoni quickly became a legend and spiraled into fame because Shidoni required its castings to be of the highest quality available anywhere. It also hosted a sort of out-of-control annual Summer Show for a number of years. Locals still talk of the Annual Shidoni Party.
Scott took over from his father upon the former's retirement in 1991 and had run both sides of the business until closing the Foundry in April 2017.
Shidoni now specializes in sales of miniature to monumental sculpture, sculpture gardens, and sculpture consulting. We've served the Santa Fe area art market for over 4 decades and are the oldest gallery in Santa Fe under the same ownership.
