Siam Colvine is an Edinburgh native Production Designer and Stylist. She studied Fashion Design at Heriot-Watt University, which lead her to explore the medium of film for her final project. Realising the potential of filmmaking in flexing all her creative muscles, she went on to conceptualise, art direct and produce various short films including; Antibiotic Apocalypse (2016) – A short educational dance film, a visual representation of antibiotic resistance; Fabric (2018) – A short film and music video with the intention to raise awareness for mental health; and I Am Disorder (2012) – A short film exploring how Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can affect a person’s everyday life. Originally from a fashion background, her distinctive dark styling and aesthetic is carried forward through her creative direction for conceptual short films and music videos. Siam is motivated by an interest in hidden meaning and deeper truths which shape our experience of the material world. Inspired by personal experiences, human nature and emotions, she tells the stories behind music, science and ideas through creative symbolism and conceptual styling.  Most recently, Siam has collaborated with Spritelight Pictures as Art Director/Producer for two short films; Kinder Surprise (2020) – shown at Filmapalooza and one of 8 films selected to screen at the Cannes Short Film Corner. Unfortunately, the event was subsequently cancelled due to COVID-19, but we hope to make it there one day; and Coyote (2020) – a neo-Western psychological thriller with an original story and a surprise twist, it is set to enter the festival run in June and has already received two Honourable Mentions and been shortlisted for the Annual Prague International Indie Film Festival (Piif) Gala 2020.
