skate-aid ist eine gemeinnützige Organisation und unterstützt seit 2009 Skateboard-Projekte im In- und Ausland, die mittels des sinn- und identitätsstiftenden Sports einen umfassenden Ansatz der Kinder-, Jugend- und Entwicklungshilfe verfolgen. Über den Bau von Skateparks hinaus arbeiten wir ganz direkt und vor Ort mit Kindern und Jugendlichen. Unser Instrument ist das Skateboard.
Skateboarding ist global und universell: Es kennt weder Grenzen noch Krieg, Hautfarbe oder Hass, arm oder reich. So lässt es sich in Afghanistan oder Afrika genauso gut zur Kinder- und Jugendarbeit einsetzen, wie bei Projekten in Deutschland.
skate-aid fördert mit der pädagogischen Kraft des Skateboards Selbstvertrauen, Gemeinschaftsbewusstsein, Eigenverantwortung und Zielstrebigkeit von Kindern und Jugendlichen und ihre freie Entfaltung. Unabhängig von sozialer Herkunft, Ethnie, Sprache, Religion, Nationalität oder Kultur.
Wir möchten Jugendlichen nicht nur den Spaß auf vier Rollen ermöglichen, sondern sie auch bei ihrer Entwicklung unterstützen, ihnen Orientierungshilfen bieten und zur Gleichberechtigung der Geschlechter beitragen. Und natürlich das schaffen, was selbstverständlich klingt, es aber oft nicht ist:
