SMART SURGISOL is a med-ed tech company. We offer dynamic training solutions to surgeons for improving their surgical skills. SMART SURGISOL provides both sort of surgical simulators for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) –conventional & robotics assisted. We offer two distinct products for two different surgical techniques; • SMART-Sim Virtual Reality (VR) Simulator – for conventional MIS & • SurgBot Robotic Trainer – for robotics assisted MIS Both conventional & robotic MIS, are being adopted worldwide at a rapid pace of 28%, with the prime advantages of reduced trauma, faster recovery & lesser blood loss. SMART-Sim Virtual Reality (VR) Simulator trains surgeons for conventional MIS. The beta version of the product has been released and currently includes basic simulation exercises for teaching skills such as hand-eye coordination depth perception & working in confined spaces. The uniqueness of the product lies in its smart evaluation feature which does not require an expert surgeon’s assistance to evaluate a trainee. SMART-Sim is ten times less expensive than its rivals. We plan to integrate pre-surgical planning module which enables surgeons to plan a surgery using patient specific anatomy generated by CT scans, in our product which, as far as we know, no other commercial product offers currently. SurgBot Robotic Trainer synchronizes a surgeon’s hand movements with six degrees of freedom robust robotic arms, for robotics assisted MIS. Based on the Master-Slave topology, the surgeon console enables surgeons to manipulate the robotic arms with increased dexterity, comfort and control. Currently, the product is in fabrication stage. It is a novel design that provides hands-on training over the actual robotic system itself.
