SmarterKey permits property rental managers to manage guest access control remotely via the SmarterKey mobile app. The same mobile app permits guests to gain access to the property, without the need of a meet & greet or the physical house keys. In fact SmarterKey removes the need for a key to open any door, by putting a digitally encrypted “key” in the SmarterKey mobile app platform.
The Smarterkey platform ‘connects’ to the Smarterkey Hub, an in home device, which talks to multiple IoT devices across the Home Area Network (HAN) including a Smarterkey approved electronic lock cylinder, surveillance, thermostats, sensors and smart sockets.
The Smarterkey project is based around the m2m Internet of things and specifically Cloud Security & the Smarterkey Hub ( similar to a smart gateway with multiple I/O peripherals : GSM, wifi, short range wireless, NFC) for total m2m electrical device remote control.
The Hub also connects to the building's smart meters permitting analysis of individual device energy consumption. Smarterkey Big Data software engineers consume all this smart data creating clear visualization of consumption and energy efficiency tools. Algorithms predicting energy usage permit Smarterkey to identify "energy lifestyles" reducing the property carbon footprint and financial gains.
