Over the past 15 years, SMART has supported the availability of timely and credible nutrition and mortality data, presented in accessible ways at national and sub-national levels. Representative and accurate data generate through SMART surveys is used in national nutrition and health programming to address the needs of vulnerable populations and guide the response of governments and other actors.
Action Against Hunger Canada (www.actioncontrelafaim.ca) has been the inter-agency project convener for SMART since 2009.
