Smartline PV is at the forefront of advancing thin film photovoltaics by improving the efficiency and stability of tin halide perovskite solar cells, a promising alternative to toxic lead-based systems. For the Smartline PV consortium, these advancements will open new opportunities to strengthen the European photovoltaics industry, particularly in the building-integrated PV market. We are committed to incorporating ecodesign, circularity, and social acceptance throughout the development process, progressing tin perovskite solar cells to TRL 5, validated through the fabrication and real-life operation of BIPV demonstrators.
