SORTD is an online educational platform for schools and their students, producing bite-sized videos to equip young people with proven strategies to become more resilient in life, and thereby enhance their well-being.
Resilience is the single greatest factor which determines your success and happiness in life - not wealth, natural ability, or relationships, but rather your ability to keep getting up when you are knocked down. You can be the richest, fastest, or most intelligent person alive - but if you can’t get up when you fail or fall, that potential is not going anywhere.
Driven by this belief and a desire to provide young people with the skills required to navigate the inevitable adversity they will face in life with successful outcomes, Jake Bailey created SORTD.
SORTD turns clinical psychology, as well as Jake's own lessons of resilience from facing cancer, into accessible, easily understood videos which connect with young people. We interview high-profile guests about their own experiences of adversity- what resilience is to them, how they cope when things get tough, and their advice for young people today to create and foster the resilience required to live happy and successful lives. We engage with students via email, live streaming, and Q&A sessions.
All of this, accompanied by summary sheets and worksheets, equips students with a range of proven tools, skills and strategies essential to navigate adversity with successful outcomes.
By doing this, we can strengthen young people for the inevitable adversity they will face in life (often before they face it), therefore leaving them better equipped to go out into the world and thrive.
