The Hispanic community in the United States is experiencing rapid growth, and their enthusiasm for movies is unparalleled. According to the 2021 MPA Theme report, the global box office market for all films released in each country around the world was $21.3B. The Hispanic/Latino category had the highest per capita attendance, going to the cinema an average of 1.7 times in the year. In addition, the Hispanic/Latino category was overrepresented in the population of daily viewers in the distribution channels of physical discs (29%), EST/VOD (27%), and online subscriptions (24%) relative to their share of the population (17%). Despite progress, the Hispanic/Latino community continues to be underrepresented in the film industry. Spanglish Media seeks to address this underrepresentation by committing to the following benchmarks: ❖ Over half of our cast shall be Hispanic. ❖ Over half of all our productions shall be helmed by a Hispanic director. ❖ Over half of all our scripts shall be written by a Hispanic writer.
