At Speech New Zealand, we believe that self-confidence, resilience, and effective communication skills are enormously important and strive to see the growth of these three elements across Aotearoa New Zealand. This is reflected in our motto “Helping our nation to communicate.”
We believe anyone can become a confident, capable communicator. You do not need to be a performer or have public speaking experience to study with Speech New Zealand.
We offer eight syllabi that cater to all age groups, children, and adults. Teachers across the country work with these syllabi online, in schools, community groups and learning centres, in the corporate sector or privately. Speech New Zealand conducts examination in a range of oral communication skills where students can test their skills, knowledge and meet milestones. We also facilitate tailor-made, bespoke courses in a variety of speech communication skills, for professional and personal development and collaborate with national and regional organisations to provide access to scholarships and opportunities for everyone.
The New Zealand Speech Board is a “not-for-profit” Registered Charitable Trust. We have nineteen examination centres spread from Northland to Invercargill and exams can be held in-person or over Zoom.
