Nach intensiver Forschung auf dem Gebiet der Quantenkommunikation steht nun der technologische Sprung aus der Wissenschaft in die Wirtschaft bevor. Das Schirmprojekt Quantenkommunikation Deutschland (SQuaD) trägt als zentrale Anlaufstelle mit Expertise und Infrastruktur der Quantenkommunikation in Deutschland entscheidend dazu bei, dass Grundlagenforschung und Industrie in den kommenden Jahren bestens vernetzt werden und kohärent agieren.
Im engen Austausch innerhalb des SQuaD-Netzwerks sollen Akteure aus Forschung und Industrie, wie die Verbünde QuNET, QR.X und DivQSec, nachhaltig voneinander lernen und profitieren. Neben der verstärkten Zusammenarbeit fließen dabei auch geplante Aktivitäten zur Standardisierung und Zertifizierung ein, bei denen zentrale Akteure wie das Deutsche Institut für Normung (DIN) eingebunden werden, um kommerzielle Verwertungsstrategien abzusichern.
Ziele von SQuaD:
1. Technologiesprung aus der Wissenschaft in die Wirtschaft ermöglichen
2. Grundlagenforschung und Industrie in den kommenden Jahren nachhaltig
vernetzen und den ständigen fachlichen Dialog zwischen den Branchen
etablieren
3. Aktuelle Quantenkommunikationstechnologien langfristig in die industrielle
Anwendung überführen
4. Ein umfassenden Forschungsnetzwerk als Innovationshub für Quantenkommunikation in Deutschland aufbauen
5. Fundament für innovative, international wettbewerbsfähige Produkte im Bereich dieser Schlüsseltechnologie legen
6. Aktivitäten zur Zertifizierung und Standardisierung von Quantentechnologie aktiv unterstützen
7. Einen wichtigen Beitrag leisten, dass Deutschland in der Weltspitze als Technologieanbieter eine führende Rolle beibehält
