Studentská sekce Mezinárodního politologického ústavu je univerzitním spolkem sdružujícím aktivní studenty politologicko-vědních oborů, kteří již nyní uvažují o své budoucí kariéře a studium je pro ně více koníčkem, než povinností. Hlavním důvodem její existence je profesní rozvoj těchto studentů, jenž je podporován prostřednictvím diskuzí a přednášek expertů z řad akademiků, politiků a dalších zajímavých osobností z celého světa. Tím dáváme studentům možnost proniknout do prostředí, ve kterém budou pravděpodobně působit po absolvování univerzity. Spolek tak vytváří prostor pro navazování kontaktů a seberealizaci svých členů, od nichž se očekává aktivní participace na celkovém chodu spolku a jeho jednotlivých projektech.
Nejvíce etablovaným projektem jsou tzv. Kulaté stoly, které v průběhu semestru pravidelně pořádáme. Mimo Kulaté stoly organizujeme také množství konferencí a besed, a zároveň zprostředkováváme bohatý interní program pro členy spolku. Studentská sekce IIPS pořádá časté exkurze do nejrůznějších institucí. Jedná se zejména o mezinárodní organizace a české i zahraniční ambasády. V posledních letech také organizujeme Masarykovy debaty. Novinkou je organizace studentské politologické konference, která se poprvé uskutečnila na jaře 2018.
