Stichting Ibhongo vindt het belangrijk dat ieder kind een veilige plek heeft om te leren en te leven. In de townships in Zuid-Afrika is dat vaak niet het geval. Wij ondersteunen in
Masiphumelele, een township ten zuiden van Kaapstad, projecten en programma's die zich hierop richten. Ze komen voort uit de wensen van de inwoners van Masi zelf. Zij zijn dan ook direct betrokken in de projecten. Het uiteindelijke doel is dat ze zelf zorgen dat de behaalde resultaten behouden blijven. Wij zorgen mee dat de programma's voor de allerarmsten toegankelijk zijn.
Onze partnerorganisaties uit Zuid-Afrika zijn Masicorp en St.Francis Trust. Met Masicorp richten we ons op het verbeteren van de kinderopvang en voorschoolse educatie. Met St. Francis Trust proberen we de 11 kinderen die in 2 Homes to Grow wonen zo goed mogelijk op te leiden passend bij hun mogelijkheden.
Onderwijs is de toekomst. We zien werken aan goed onderwijs en stimulans van ontwikkeling van jonge kinderen als de weg uit de armoede.
Elk jaar bezoeken bestuursleden op eigen kosten de projecten. Waar mogelijk werken we er ook zelf in mee. Door het jaar heen hebben we met beide organisaties veel digitaal contact.
Stichting Ibhongo is een ANBI instelling, nagenoeg alle inkomsten via donaties gaan naar ons doel en zijn fiscaal aftrekbaar.
