Stichting BKR - een financieel gezonde wereld
Stichting BKR streeft een financieel gezonde wereld na. Onze missie is een maatschappelijke: we dragen op een objectieve wijze bij aan verantwoorde kredietverstrekking en we willen voorkomen dat schulden problemen worden. Stichting BKR heeft geen winstoogmerk.
In het Centraal Krediet Informatiesysteem (CKI) registreren aangesloten organisaties gegevens over afgesloten kredieten en betalingsachterstanden op kredieten. Van hypotheken worden alleen betalingsachterstanden geregistreerd. Aangesloten organisaties als banken, hypotheekverstrekkers en creditcardorganisaties raadplegen de gegevens in het CKI om verantwoord krediet te kunnen verstrekken.
Consumenten kunnen hun eigen gegevens bij Stichting BKR (online) inzien. Momenteel beheert Stichting BKR de kredietgegevens van ruim 12 miljoen consumenten. Zo'n 96% daarvan komt hun betalingsverplichtingen na.
Naast het CKI beheert Stichting BKR, vanuit het beveiligde datacentrum ook andere databases met privacygevoelige informatie. Deze informatie ondersteunt aangesloten organisaties bij het tegengaan van misbruik en (identificatie)fraude in het financiële verkeer.
Ook is Stichting BKR actief binnen diverse maatschappelijke projecten op het gebied van vroegsignalering en schuldhulpverlening. Zo werken we met het ministerie van SZW, gemeenten en private partijen aan een Vindplaats van Schulden. Een samenwerkingsverband om in een vroegtijdig stadium mensen te bereiken die hulp willen bij het oplossen van problematische schulden.
Stichting BKR is in 1965 opgericht en gevestigd in Tiel. Er zijn ongeveer 250 organisaties bij ons aangesloten. Met 120 gemotiveerde werknemers werken we aan een financieel gezonde wereld. Meer informatie vindt u op: www.bkr.nl.
